Rochester Music Guild Grant Awards for the 2009-2010 Season

 

Each year the Rochester Music Guild has provided funds to area music organizations to help promote music education and performance.  Grant applications are submitted by the organizations for their upcoming season by July 1st, reviewed by our grant committee, and funds delivered in September for the upcoming season.  For the 2009-2010 season the Rochester Music Guild has provided assistance to the following nine organizations through this grant program:
 
- Bella Voce was provided tuition assistance for qualified auditioned singers.
 
- Young Musicians of Southeastern Minnesota was assisted in its program production.
 
- The Rochester Symphony Orchestra  and Chorale was granted funds for its Sounds of the Symphony program to help provide orchestral enrichment programs to students in the Southeastern Minnesota elementary schools.
 
- The Rochester Male Chorus was given money to purchase music for their new Rochester Area Boy Choir.
 
- The  Rochesterfest Fiddle Contest was given support for their annual program.
 
- Southeastern Suzuki Association (SEMSA) was assisted by providing support for its Gasshuku weekend  piano workshop for  local students
 
- Honors Choirs of Southeastern Minnesota was granted money  for the purchase of musical scores for a combined performance of its four choirs.
 
- The South East Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (SEMNAGO) was  supported for its Master Class program for local organ students.
 
- The Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestra (SEMYO) received funds to support its annual piano competition and its concerto competition for philharmonic and concert orchestras.
